Dennis Prager, the clearest thinker in the media, this morning pointed out the truly monolithic nature of the Left media in the country with a simple observation.
With the exception of the WSJ, he said, no major newspaper lend editorial support to Bush's proposed Constitutional amendment limiting marriage to one man and one woman. Yet that is decidedly not reflective of any national poll on the question... yet another indication of the Left's disconnect from the vast majority of America.
If you've read the New York Times, you've read the Washington Post, the Boston Globe, the LA Times, the SF Chronicle, the Chicago Tribune, the Dallas-Ft Worth Star-Telegram, etc., and seen and heard ABCCBSNBCPBSCNN, ad nauseum.
There are two "public" sources of independent thought, Prager observed--"talk radio and churches." However, he added that even the latter does include a number of denominations just as left as NPR and the Teamsters.
Think about it.... the Left controls the K-12 education system, the unions, the professional organizations, colleges and universities, all major newspapers, televisions networks, publishing houses, magazines, environmental groups, trial lawyers, the federal judiciary.
Yet the Left howls about the influence of talk radio and that it does not adhere to the lock-step of the Left media propagandists. This is all so predominant that liberal and Left views are considered the default setting, and conservative positions must then be "right-wing."
... we have to continue to fight for the hearts and minds.
