Jane Fonda is going on the road again. That silence you hear is the rousing success of the
Million 50,000 Man March and the hundreds of Mommies Against Guns. It turns out that the national bus tour (I like the thought of Jane riding a bus for weeks) was in reponses to popular request.
"Fonda said war veterans that she has met on a nationwide book tour have encouraged her to break her silence on the Iraq war."
Hummm, so it's our fault. My guess is that she's set herself up for stiff counter-demonstrations from a bunch of middle-age vets... ask John Kerry.
Sterotype. I don't watch much network TV, but last night I got hooked into one of the 163 crime investigation dramas... eventually we'll have "CSI: Bakersfield." Anyway, the opening flashback scene of "Cold Case Files" featured friends gathered for a 1969 wedding reception, including a uniformed Vietnam veteran in a wheelchair. Obviously uncomfortable in his surroundings, I assumed the sergeant would be treated with compassion, considering all "support out troops" claptrap coming from Hollywood. Besides, it was 36 years ago.
What was I thinking? There were several suspects in the three-decades old cold murder case including hippies, drug users, adultresses, cowards, musicians and draft-dodgers. But, by the time the credits rolled the cops had fingered their man... the Vietnam Vet with a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
Turns out of course, he not only murdered his sister, he was a junkie, a whiner, and a war criminal murderer of innocent women and children.... and just for karmic payback, the vet explained, he was paralyzed by a little girl who fraged him in revenge... it was her family he'd killed.
"Cold Case Files".... it's on CBS.... same network as Cronkite and Rather and all the usual suspects.
And in case you'd like to write someone else, the latest candidate for Horse's Ass of the Week:
Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. Cathrine Baker Knoll... who showed up uninvited at the funeral of a Marine staff sergeant, handed out her business cards and announced that the state government was against the war in Iraq.
Just another seditious leftie "supporting our troops."
These are the last gasps of the left, another politically sucidal march to the fringe just as the Islamic subhumans are demonstrating their recalcitrance, their manical and homicidal view of the the world.
