Color me skeptical... no, color me outraged; the report by the National Intelligence Estimate released yesterday concluded that Iran ceased its secret nuclear weapons program in 2003, has not resumed it.
So let me get this straight... when the CIA and other U.S. intelligence agencies report that Iraq has WMD, they are simply minions of the criminal Bush regime intent on dragging us into war; but when the same agencies report that Iran is suddenly no threat at all, and nor more bellicose than your grandmother, the left embraces the news as if it was sent by God Jimmah Carter.
However, it is "probably keeping open the option to develop nuclear weapons" by continuing to build missiles and pursue a civilian nuclear power program. (Full report here. )
The report estimates that Iran will not achieve weapons grade uranium production until 2010 and 2015.
Before the CIA takes the next six months off to go fishing, someone should point out to them that 2010 is only two years away.

Furthermore, the report said that Tehran's nuke program was halted because of "increasing international scrutiny". International scrutiny??? Yeah, I'm sure it didn't have a thing to do with us destroying the military despotic rule of its next-door neighbor.
It is not secret that anti-Bush elements in the CIA and its sister agencies as well as the State Department have actively sought to undermine the President's programs in general and particularly, the war in Iraq.
Remember, this is the agency most responsible for the loss of 3,000 Americans on 9/11.
The report includes photos from Iran's Natanz nuclear facility which intelligence analysts concluded Iran continues to face "significant technical problems" in using the facility to enrich uranium, one officer said. Origin of the photos...? They were taken by newspaper photographers on a media tour conducted by Ahmadinejad's Islamofacist government.
Using that rationale, should I have my taxes done by a news anchor?
Israel is nervous as hell... Ehud Barak, the Israeli defense minister, said it was likely that Iran had restarted its atomic weapons program since 2003... proving he has more intelligence intelligence than all our spook agencies combined. The NYT reports on Israel's belief that the weapons program has resumed.
With a resolve and clarity that is MIA in American, Barak said, “but we cannot allow ourselves to rest just because of an intelligence report from the other side of the earth, even if it is from our greatest friend.”
How was this news received in Tehran?
With huge celebration I'd say. Mohammad Ali Hosseini, a foreign ministry spokesman, said: "This report proves that Bush's statements - which always speak of the serious threat of Iran's nuclear program - are unreliable and fictitious."

Save Congo.
Congo, an 85-pound German Shepherd, is on death row for attacking a landscaper after he grabbed the dog's owner.
The 18-month-old is now home with his family in Princeton, New Jersey, after five months' incarceration at the city pound during which he was wasting away.

Naturally the details of the incident are disputed by the dog's owners, Guy and Elizabeth James, and the worker... Giovanni Rivera, a Honduran illegal immigrant.
The James say the landscapers arrived earlier than expected and entered the yard and that Congo was provoked when Rivera became scared, grabbed Mrs. James and tried to hide behind her.
Rivera suffered lacerations that required surgery and he received $250,000 from the James' homeowners insurance.
A municipal judge ruled Congo vicious and that the attack was unprovoked; state law requires the dog be executed. He remains with his family while the case is under appeal.
Thousands have protested and flooded the Gov. Jon Corzine's office with calls and emails. He has refused to become involved.

The Israeli leader critaenly does not hate Iranians, we have many Iranians living in Israel, and they're my friends and like family! Very sadly, I think most of us just want to live & let live, like you, me and all the regular people. I can reassure you, us and our leaders desperately want to live in peace with everyone and all our neighbors. Our leaders have always offered to make peace treaties and are eager to exchange info in agriculture, technology, medicine & environment for the greater good of us all. We did achieve peace treaties with Jordan, Egypt and Turkey, which til recently seemed quite strong.We worked together for the greater good of all our peoples. But very sadly Ray, I don't know how much info you can get where you are, but there's this thing called anti-semitisim, and there always seems to be at least one leader who wants to illogically wipe us all off the map, no matter how much kindness, goodness and peace treaties we offer.I so wish we all could change your leader's mind, but he very publicly announces to the whole world he wants to bomb us with nuclear bombs and wipe us and our country off the map. He is being the aggressor, and openly so, for the whole world to see. We'd LOVE peace, we'd LOVE if he changed his mind. But he hasn't & doesn't look like he will. But this is why we've been having such a hard time with the war on terror, we're so careful to avoid civilian casualties, but our enemies don't care and purposely target innocent civilians and use their own as human shields. It's not been a fair fight, and critaenly only started by the other side, we're just on the defensive, we want peace!!!I truly hope & pray God will make miracles and no offensive or defensive war will take place on any side and we'll only have world peace.
