The Marine Corps has ended his deployment in Iraq and now turns its operational attention to a much different war in Afghanistan.
In Iraq's Al Anbar province, the II Marine Expeditionary Force handed over command to the U.S. Army's 1st Armored Division Sunday as Marine Corps deployments to Iraq end after more than six years.
During the 2003 invasion, some 40,000 marines participated, and there were over 80,000 Marines in the region at the time. At the height of the insurgency phase, almost 27,000 Marines were in Iraq, mostly in Anbar province—once a al-Qaida stronghold.
Marines were always there, and lost 522 dead and 5,049 wounded in the process.
Most of the Navy casualties in Iraq (26 dead, 320 wounded) were sailors, especially corpsmen, serving with or in support of the Marines.
And yet the Marine Corps never failed to meet it’s recruitment goals because of jarheads like Cpl. Gareth Hawkins, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines—Don’s and my old battalion—who reenlisted a short time after being seriously wounded.
Corporal Hawkins refused to be medically evacuated before he re-enlisted in the surgical station after a massive roadside bomb hit his vehicle near Karmah, Iraq, shattering his right leg.
“He took the oath of enlistment with the backdrop of fellow leathernecks whispering ‘[expletive] motivating, man…,’ and ‘that’s crazy,’ according to a June 29 Marine Corps news story.”
No, not crazy… he’s just a Marine making good his oath to serve Country and Corps and never let down a fellow Marine… including all those back to 1775.
Read citations here of just the Silver Stars awarded to Marines in the War on Terror… this grinding, bitter horrific conflict isn’t now and never was “a man-made disaster”.
May our honored dead rest in peace.
Semper Fidelis.
And where was the acknowledgement from their Commander-in-Chief"? Apparently, the Corps didn’t stack up his pathological need for self adoration; (via PrisonPlanet.com):

Any word for the Marine Gold Star Families?

No; apparently he was too busy apologizing and bowing.
We long ago came to expect sacrifice and service from our military; often we expect that which is “above and beyond”, even superhuman.
But there is no way America can make it up to our soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines for being forced to serve under this despicable enemy of America…. Barack Hussein Obama.

Clinical studies of isotretinoin did not include sufficient numbers of subjects aged 65 years and over to determine whether they respond differently from younger subjects. Although reported clinical experience has not identified differences in responses between elderly and younger patients, effects of aging might be expected to increase some risks associated with isotretinoin therapy see WARNINGS and PRECAUTIONS.
