"Ich bein ein Beginner....."

image

What Bizarro World-Karl Rove political geniuses in the Obama campaign determined that their boy should run for president in Germany?

As far as I know, this is unprecedented for an American politician.

We're Americans, and by our very blood and Revolutionary DNA we do not look to Europe for much of anything. History shows that particular turnstile operates the other way.

Fresh off his attempt to undermine his country by trying to negotiate an end to the Iraq War in an afternoon (also a first), The One again shows he's not only pathetically naive, but woefully underestimates America's stomach the arrogance shown by the following:

“It is not going to be a political speech,” said an Obama senior foreign policy adviser, who spoke to reporters on background. “When the president of the United States goes and gives a speech, it is not a political speech or a political rally.

“But he is not president of the United States,” a reporter reminded the him.

image You'll recall his rework of the Presidential Seal in his favorite U.N. helmet-blue that went over like John Murtha at a Marine Corps Birthday celebration.

Maintaining our "Americanism" when overseas, our flag, the trappings of our highest office, standing at attention with hand over heart during the National Anthem... all symbolic and very important to the vast majority of us, if not Barack Hussein Obama.

Merci beaucoup?

Since LM31 is your main source of 411 on hip hop culture (sic)... we bring you this:

imageSomething called Nas (left) is outraged at Fox News for its “pattern of racist attacks against black Americans,” among them  Barack Obama and his wife Michelle.

He joined ColorOfChange.org and MoveOn.org to deliver more than 620,000 petition signatures demanding Fox executive and broadcast staff immediately stop being racists.

... and beating their wives.

And you can't make this up:

William Leonard Roberts under the nom de stupid, Rick Ross - Trilla MC, is a rapper who found success 2006 because his lyrics reflected his background as a "cartel kingpin."

He shot to international attention with his first album which was based on events that he’d lived through.

image

But now because his career hangs in the balance because of widely-circulating rumors (which he denies) that in his past he worked as a..... prison guard!

Reports that Ross’ has fabricated his ‘cartel kingpin’ past could be devastating for his credibility and in turn, the longevity of his career.

Apparently this threat to his "street cred" could be career-ending, so he's denying the whole thing despite the fact there are pictures of him in law enforcement uniform, an 18-month job history, and details of his salary paperwork complete with his security social security number.

image Damn, just another case of The Man keepin' the brotha down.

Such an absurdity points out seemingly irreparable damage done to black and Hispanic youth by the so-called "gangsta" music and lifestyle.

Reality has been turned on its head when black kids believe the way to make it in life is first, become a criminal... then write down occasionally rhyming words and speak them.

Musical, singing or writing talent is not necessary; talk, look, and act like a thug and you can have fame and fortune.

The number two option for millions of black kids' view of success is simply become an NBA star.

image Uh-huh.... there are 450 players in the NBA. There are far fewer "rap stars" (thankfully) even making a living, and therefore the chance of success is even more remote.

The drop-out rate in Los Angeles California-a hotbed of rap entertainment-shows that 42 percent of black students and 30 percent of Latinos quit high school last year- far more than the state average.

Now that's cred.

"And I... feeeeel like I've... been here before...."

imageI never watch network TV news, there are too many other sources of news that aren't propaganda mills.

So... I've seen little of the tape of the Middle East leg of Obama's trip, except I did see poorly-shot tape of him in Baghdad shooting baskets (is there a bigger racial stereotype?).

My second thought was, what's a basketball court doing on a military base in the war zone?

But to the point... I just read this transcript this morning from blowhard Chris Matthews' show:

ANDREA MITCHELL: Let me just say something about the message management.  He didn't have reporters with him, he didn't have a press pool, he didn't do a press conference while he was on the ground in either Afghanistan or Iraq. What you're seeing is not what reporters brought in.  You're seeing selected pictures taken by the military, questions by the military, and what some would call fake interviews, because they're not interviews from a journalist.

So, there's a real press issue here.  Politically it's smart as can be.  But we've not seen a presidential candidate do this, in my recollection, ever before.

Let that sink in: no reporters, not even the minimal-to-moderate chance of objective information. Why isn't every reporter bitching about being cut out of the process? Where's the journalistic outrage?

image Good questions. The answer is obvious, but the real question here is will McCain be able to fight Obama and the combined forces of hundreds of millions from 527s, and the entire, in-the-tank leftist news media arrayed against him?

Bush was able to do so twice but he was running against poorer candidates both times. The left vowed this time to elect somebody, anybody with all left-of-center elements of this nation are working together.

Sieg Heil?

Obama wants to focus the "image value" of his entire trip on the Berlin appearance where he's planning to film his speech at The Victory Column. I suppose an impressive crowd would be 40,000+; chances are he'll probably achieve that.

But it doesn't matter... a crowd of even 20,000, if shot and edited right, will give him enough good footage for impactful, presidential-looking video from now until November.

And just whether oh where would a third-rate pol from Chi-town tap into high-level film editing and special effects expertise? You know the answer.

This was all explained before in a forgettable movie,"Wag The Dog."

image And before that it was called "Triumph of the Will" in which propagandist Leni Riefenstahl chronicled the rise of the Nazi Party in 1934.

It was and remains brilliantly shot and directed, but the credits roll you have the answer to the question:

"Why didn't someone stop him in the first place?"

A large part of the reason was that the world press was in the tank for the former community organizer from Austria.

And before the permanently panty-twisted stroke out, I'm not doing what the left does, demonizing someone as the best-known fascist genocidal creation from the depths of Hell.

Rather I am comparing two small-time highly unqualified politicians, surrounded a coterie of fawning sycophants who rose to the top of their respective parties with grandiose plans they promised would transform their nations.

capt.cps.nbj53.220708190827.photo03.photo.default-512x350 As did the former corporal, the former ACORN operative possesses solid oratory skills (except he didn't need a tele-prompter); both overcame the stigma of being "political outsiders" by criticizing the status quo and promising a brave new world in which the government would care for the masses from cradle to gave.

So successful was The National Socialists' propaganda that not only did Hitler unite the Germans, he envisioned a new world order with the the Germanic peoples in charge.

Sadly, millions of Germans were seduced by such promises, foreign leaders such as Britain's Neville Chamberlain believed the facade and not the dark reality. Joe Kennedy and even The Lone Eagle, Charles Lindbergh, were in the tank for the distasteful, strutting little man; thousands of Americans emulated the National Socialists with brown-shirt uniforms, swastika armbands and heated rhetorical.

The National Socialists co-opted the German military over the years, and the party's SS or ''Shield Squadron" was a civilian counterpart which would eventually wield great power, both politically and militarily; it was "an army within the army" which, like its leader finally ran completely amok.

image Barack Obama: July 2--Colorado Springs:

"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set," he said. "We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded."

Obama said that he wants to "integrate civilian and military capabilities to promote global democracy and development."  This would include the creation of "Mobile Development Teams (MDTs) that bring together personnel from the military, the Pentagon, the State Department and USAID, fully integrating U.S. government efforts in counter-terror, state-building, and post-conflict operations."

As well, he would also "establish an expeditionary capability" for non-Pentagon agencies, including the departments of State, Homeland Security, Justice and Treasury.

There's much more... it's all been done before.

Symbols are not cymbals

Well that didn't take long... yesterday I wrote about Barry Obama's pre-victory lap to open soon in Germany: "Stay tuned to gaffes-a-plenty mixed with overriding and crushing boredom."

reagan101207 Stay with me...

On the 40th anniversary of VE Day, President Reagan participated in several symbolic ceremonies in Germany. One of them was a visit to a small German military cemetery near Bitburg.

Poor advance planning missed the fact that 49 graves held remains of the infamous Waffen SS. The critical mistake was discovered after the President's itinerary was announced here and in Germany.

Reagan took a beating before and after he made the visit to the cemetery from WWII vets, Holocaust survivors and especially almost all democrat senators who formally requested him not to visit Bitburg.

imageIt was a very bad mistake first by German Chancellor Helmut Kohl for not even knowing dead SS were interred there, and then by Reagan's men who didn't check and double-check such a sensitive venue.

Further research indicated the most of the SS troopers were only 18-20 and had been drafted into the unit in the later stages of the war.

That added to Reagan's resolve to visit to Bitburg.

Obama is history-deficient:

We now have a parallel kerfuffel caused by a snot-nosed, wet-behind-the-big-ears, junior senator who is using a  European/Middle East grand promenade in an attempt to garner some faux international prestige and stature.

It's what small men do when they lack substance... just posture as if they have it in spades, but then need symbols.

imageStiffed in his attempt to mimic Reagan and Jack Kennedy by using the Brandenburg Gate as a prop, he's opted to speak to expected huge  crowds beneath The Siegessäule-- The Victory Column--in Berlin.

The towering  700-foot monument to a tribute Prussia's military dominance and victories in wars against Denmark, Austria and France in the 19th century.

Originally located in front of the Reichstag, Germany's parliament building, it was moved by Adolf Hitler to its current location in 1939 to make way for his planned transformation of Berlin into the Nazi capital "Germania."

Hitler knew very well the power of the such a national symbol... and he co-opted it for his genocidal cause, as it played very well into the Nazi belief in Aryan superiority.

image The Siegessäule is hardly an appropriate backdrop for an American politician, and is directly at odds with Obama's canned speech about "hope and change".

Many Germans are concerned; one member of parliament said, "the Siegessäule is dedicated to victory over neighbors who are today our European friends and allies. It is a problematic symbol."

Where are the leftist press' Reagan-Bitburg howls this time?

But GA, isn't Reagan's mistake worse...?

No; for these reasons:

Kohl had asked Reagan to visit a German military cemetery and Reagan agreed that it would demonstrate the strength of the friendship that existed between Germany and its former foe.

image Reagan wanted to publicly acknowledge Kohl's support the US placing Pershing-missiles in West German which countered the Soviet missile threat to Western Europe. Kohl had been steadfast in the face of great public and political in his country.

Reagan was the leader of the free world and in that role had to play three-dimensional world politics... how would Israel react? What would the Soviets (who suffered greatly at the hands of Hitler and the SS) do with such a propaganda windfall?

Would the error have lasting negative impact on America's interests?

In contrast Obama is a callow opportunist who represents nothing and speaks for no one; he is devoid of world-level political relationships.

He is merely obvious and ignorant, and Europe is watching.

Obama, Lesbos and... and "why so serious?"

image

The Savior of All Mankind Tour now underway... let the fawning begin.

Our Messiah (sans The Amazon) is now off playing world leader where every leader he meets will will have far more experience, political savvy and insight than this political poseur.

And all of them will probably speak more than their native language....

Merci beaucoup?

How embarrassing... Shouldn't he be home tutoring his daughters in Spanish?

Stay tuned to gaffes-a-plenty mixed with overriding and crushing boredom.

Obama World Tour T-Shirt Courtesy of Michelle Malkin.

The National Organization of (Ugly) Women...

... attended some nut-roots convention in Austin last week and ballyhooed their presence by proclaiming:

No Capes, No Masks, No Boundaries:
Feminist Super-Women Unite!

image Apparently, this is a junior high attempt to portray womyn as not equals but superior to men in every way; and, it's a not so subtle rip on "Dark Knight"...  a good guys' movie-- the the latest in the Batman franchise.

Some press release highlights:

"We need not be superhuman heroes who fly or dodge bullets -- our pride, passion and resilience make us extraordinary. (My coaches always told me that if you keep insisting to you're the greatest, you ain't.)

Here are some of NOW's superior-because-they-are-female heroes heroines:

Barbara Hillary-- first black women to go to the North Pole (and at 75 years old).  Okayyyy????

Lilly Ledbetter -- "she spoke out against wage discrimination, igniting a fierce battle that reached the U.S. Supreme Court and the halls of Congress."

Wow... what an accomplishment; NOW doesn't mention what happened as a result.

image Jehmu Green -- "used her legendary organizing skills to take Rock the Vote membership from 1500 to over one million during her tenure as president.

Double-wow... only the slacker numbskulls who watch MTV would have been slightly aware of this. But, here's the rub... the youth vote (18-24) targeted by Green is by far the lowest voter turnout (2000-2004) at 36%; the voter turn out for all ages was 61%.

She was apparently responsible for this dumbass' perplexing encouragement of democratic principles.

imageSuper.

Here are more current NOW "super heroes": Donna Edwards, Patricia Ireland, Nancy Redd, Irshad Manji, Marie Cocco, and Dr. Erika Falk.

Except for Ireland (a NOW prez) as anyone ever heard of a single one of them? Didn't think so.

Readers are welcome to send me the names women who are truly making a difference in the community, state, nation through their intelligence, hard work, dedication, service and sacrifice instead of bitching about a "glass ceiling", blaming men, and cheering the murder of children in the womb.

And finally in NOW Lesbian news (this is funny):

Dimitris Lambrou, is suing, the Homosexual and Lesbian Community of Greece because of 'insults the identity' of people on Lesbos, known as Lesbians. "Our geographical designation has been usurped by certain ladies," he said.

imageHey... they ain't no ladies.

Understandably, Dimitris wants them to find a new name.

With great conviction, he said he and his wife and daughter "are Lesbians." It's a matter of geography and not sexual orientation.

LM31 welcomes CLEAVER (not vile) new names for the gals with chains attaching their truckers wallets to their belts.

Do as we say... not as we do

I'd venture to say that the modern day Air Force comes in for more inter-service jibes, jokes and criticism than any other branch.

Zoomies have a rep for being a more militarily "relaxed" than their sister services, cleaner and perhaps less physical and more refined as a group.

No long ago they had that little problem of a B-52 flying around with six nukes that the crew wasn't aware of; as the top AF four-stars and SecAF were summarily sacked by SecDef Gates.

PH2008071703168And this doesn't help the image of the Boys in Blue:

What you're looking at is a "luxury pod" which is designed to provide AF brass with rock-star accommodations when flying here and there.

These "comfort units" are to ensure that leaders can talk, work and rest comfortably in the air. Uh-huh.... Air Farce top brass demanded that the self-contained units be "aesthetically pleasing and furnished to reflect the rank of the senior leaders using the capsule," with beds, a couch, a table, a 37-inch flat-screen monitor with stereo speakers, and a full-length mirror.

Somehow, the mirror bothers me the most; oh, and by the way... the Air Force is fighting to use "counter-terrorism" funds to pay for the $7-16 million price tag.

The WaPo has more details.

image

By contrast, 24th MEU Marines (left) were forced to relocate their "comfort pods" in Afghanistan recently due to the slight inconvenience of incoming Taliban rockets.

A Mind is a terrible thing when it's wasted:

The Gore family must be in seclusion after learning that the former vice president has had a psychotic break during an speech the other day. The poor man insisted that the US could "end its dependence on carbon-based fuels and replace every kilowatt of electricity in the country through wind, sun and other Earth-friendly energy sources within the next 10 years.

image Is there anything the man can't do?

The drive-by news media continues its MessiahFest, being absolutely giddy over the fact the Obamanation spent "188 minutes in the gym yesterday – making three separate stops to Chicago gyms over the course of one day."

And they ridiculed Bush for crashing his mountain bike and going on "vacations".....

With all the athletic ability I'm shocked... shocked I tell you, that he never served a day in the military.

No. 2 on The Obama Watch:

From his pandering speech to his amigos in the National Council of La Raza (The Race):

“The system isn’t working when 12 million people live in hiding, and hundreds of thousands cross our borders illegally each year; when communities are terrorized by ICE immigration raids, when nursing mothers are torn from their babies; when children come home from school to find their parents missing; when people are detained without access to legal counsel.”

Presumably his remarks were delivered in English.

image No. 3

Looks like the Krauts bitch slapped His Holiness after he informed them he would be speaking at the Brandenburg Gate during his little international tour designed to show how presidential he is.

Reejeected.... ain't happenin'.

Nien! Du bist nicht! (or thereabouts).

Yo, Barry... that sorta thing isn't for callow, deficient candidates, you have to earn that spot after accomplishing something major, and after you've been elected president.

You may recall that he cited all his superior foreign policy experience with the following:

Obama: "[M]y experience in foreign policy is probably more diverse than most others in the field. ... You know, I majored in international relations." (ABC's "Good Morning America," 1/24/07)

But... his official MySpace page lists his major as "Political Science." (MySpace Website, http://www.myspace.com, Accessed 4/10/08)

And just to reassure you that the Associated Press is maintaining its reputation as an objective news source:

McCain gets Social Security but criticizes system

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Although Republican presidential candidate John McCain has called Social Security "a disgrace," he still cashes his own retirement check every month.

McCain's 2007 tax return shows Social Security benefits of $23,157 for the year, an average of $1,929.75 a month. He said he started receiving the payments "whenever I was eligible."

Get duct tape... wrap tightly around head... read:

image plat·i·tude  {plat-i-tood] – noun

--- a flat, dull, or trite remark, esp. one uttered as if it were fresh or profound, significant and original.

Michelle Malkin's latest syndicated column quoting Barack Obama’s recommendations for how to stop jihad in a local Chicago newspaper op-ed he had published eight days after the 9/11:

"... It’s a self-parody of blind, deaf, and dumb Kumbaya liberalism:

“We must also engage, however, in the more difficult task of understanding the sources of such madness. The essence of this tragedy, it seems to me, derives from a fundamental absence of empathy on the part of the attackers: an inability to imagine, or connect with, the humanity and suffering of others. Such a failure of empathy, such numbness to the pain of a child or the desperation of a parent, is not innate; nor, history tells us, is it unique to a particular culture, religion, or ethnicity. It may find expression in a particular brand of violence, and may be channeled by particular demagogues or fanatics. Most often, though, it grows out of a climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair.”

Ask your liberal sister-in-law if this is the man she's really going to choose to protect her children.

image BTW: all references to ridiculing "The Surge" have mysteriously disappeared from Obama's website. And from the LA Rag Times, no less:

A funny thing happened over on the Barack Obama campaign website in the last few days.

The parts that stressed his opposition to the 2007 troop surge and his statement that more troops would make no difference in a civil war have somehow disappeared. John McCain and Obama have been going at it heavily in recent days over the benefits of the surge.

image And tell her her vote won't just get one Obama, she'll get TWO!!

The Amazon recently complained the Bush administration’s $600 economic stimulus check was only enough to buy “a pair of earrings”; she made these remarks at a “working women’s" round-table discussion:

“You're getting $600 - what can you do with that?” Mrs. Obama said in Pontiac, Michigan last week. “Not to be ungrateful or anything, but maybe it pays down a bill, but it doesn't pay down every bill every month. The short-term quick fix kinda stuff sounds good, and it may even feel good that first month when you get that check, and then you go out and you buy a pair of earrings."

Please pass the arugula.

"We can't drill ourselves out of this." -- "Dingy" Harry Reid

image

GW Bush mentioned the word "drill" the other day and the price of oil immediately dropped $9/barrel.

"The Democrat congressional ban on offshore drilling expires exactly 36 days before the election."

hilThis is a no-brainer... they'll simply stop their 27-year long opposition to offshore drilling and claim "they were for it before they were against it."

The demo party provides not end of amusing entertainment for those with an IQ above room temp.

Drivel from the port side

imageLooks like my instincts didn't fail me the other day in my post -- No Country for Old Conservatives

Sometimes I feel like Tommy Lee Jones, some-times I don't; but mostly I do.

Ed Morrissey over at HotAir.com confirms my thoughts with the following:

"How far left do people have to be for the New York Times to call them “far Left”?

"MoveOn?  International ANSWER?  Young Communists?  William Yardley discovers them in — surprise! — Portland, Oregon, and also discovers that the natives are restless after the last few weeks of Barack Obama flip-flops."

Ed explains that the extreme left in major Pac N/W cities switched from the Greens to the Dems because of His Holiness--B. Hussein Obama. Now, angered by his failure to charge farther and farther left, they're going back to the enviro-whacko party. Ed report hat one such Portland fifth-columnist's house  windows feature banners such as “Occupation is Terrorism” and “Free Gaza”.

And you thought I exaggerate in calling the enviro-movement home to hard line 60s-era socialists and Communists.

Ever wonder why females are addicted to "Law and Order"?

imageHere's a hint here thanks to one of  the toughest bloggers anywhere, Debbie Schlussell:

Saturday's Wall Street Journal reports that  L&O creator Dick Wolf is going mano-a-mano with NBC/Universal suits over the $750 million syndication fortune he'll earn from the re-runs.

Wolf be purty damned smart.. he knows his audience for the five-show, 20-year- long franchise... he calls it's success... the "Triumph of the Familiar".

And as usual with such "Hollywood" lefties, there's a blatant agenda caught by Debbie:

One way Mr. Wolf maintains this consistency is by making most of the victims wealthy white people, which he believes viewers are more interested in watching. He limits the number of shows containing minority victims, including blacks and Muslims, to four or five episodes a season out of 22 to 24.

imageShe continues:

That means, under Wolf's mandate, up to 83% of the criminals on L&O in a 24 episode season will be rich Whites. The lowest figure, based on the Wolf formula, can be 77%.

But--since "Law and Order" focuses on murders--here's a reality check, courtesy of the Manhattan Institute's Heather McDonald:

In 2005, the black homicide rate was over seven times higher than that of whites and Hispanics combined, according to the federal Bureau of Justice Statistics. From 1976 to 2005, blacks committed over 52 percent of all murders in America. In 2006, the black arrest rate for most crimes was two to nearly three times blacks' representation in the population. Blacks constituted 39.3 percent of all violent-crime arrests, including 56.3 percent of all robbery and 34.5 percent of all aggravated-assault arrests, and 29.4 percent of all property-crime arrests.

Entertainment or brain-washing?

... chung chung.

image This just in:

George "Uh, Better Late than Never" Bush has removed the executive ban on offshore drilling that has stood since his father (that other really conservative Republican) was president. Details here.

Don't get excited... there's another ban on drilling... a Democrat federal law has prevented off-shore drilling since 1981.

Don't like paying $4.50 a gallon?... hang it on your leftie sister-in-law voting for democrats.

The Gubernator sucks up to Messiahbama:

George Stephanopoulos: “If he were president and he called (about a cabinet post), you would at least take that call?”

Gubernator: “I would take his call now, I will take his call when he's President. Any time."

You catch "when"?

image Lastly...

Remember when the leftist news media stopped working for a week or longer when NBC's Tim Russert died unexpectedly?

Stephanopoulos' network was able to summon up all of 30 seconds for Tony Snow's obit yesterday; seems to be about the same for the rest, except FGox, of course which was dignified--like Tony.

Tony got a lot more attention on the LA Times' website, which the piece of crap rag refuses to remove (this is just a tiny fraction of such filth):

-- CANCER WAS TOO GOOD FOR HIM. HOPE IT WAS PAINFUL. NOW FOR THE REST OF THIS SCUMMY ADMINISTRATION. COME ON CANCER, DO YOUR GOOD WORK………………..”

  • “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the first day of a Tony Snow-free world! Yay!!!!”
  • I only wish his suffering were more prolonged.”
  • I hope he suffered at the end. Just a terrible person.”
  • I hope the rest of these criminals die too. Good riddance to a person who contributed to making this world a worse place.
  • Its unfortunate he won’t be able to see the damage he helped inflict on this country and the world. I wonder how he likes hell.
  • Good riddance , we still have a white house full of liars
and American soldiers being slaughtered. if Cheney strokes
then change will begin , as for Bush he is just to stupid
to die and when he dies bury him at home in IRAQ.
  • I only wish his suffering were more prolonged.
  • How come it couldn’t have happened to someone really evil like Dick Cheney?
  • The question begs to be asked, is it possible to die when you don’t have a soul.
  • I hope he suffered at the end. Just a terrible person.
  • Welcome, Mr. Snow. I believe your roommate, Mr. Helms, has already arrived.

Calling a spade a spade....

image Whiners...? Of course we are; Phil Gramm is right in the 10-ring.

He had the temerity to observe: "We have sort of become a nation of whiners, you just hear this constant whining, complaining about a loss of competitiveness, America in decline."

I hear what Gramm hears; increasing numbers of whiners looking for more and more government handouts, and whining that would embarrass their parents and grandparents.

Gramm, an economist, also reminded people that they should give up the Chicken Little act, take a reality check.

Fact: we still have not suffered a "recession" which is defined as "a decline in the gross domestic product (GDP)  for two or more consecutive quarters."

Not hard to understand... easily proven; therefore, "mental recession."

Yet "Maverick", the "conservative" candidate, oh so quick to march across the aisle, couldn't toss Gramm under the bus quickly enough. "Phil Gramm doesn't speak for me; I speak for myself."

Unfortunately.

image The problem is two-fold: McCain immediately showed (again) that he "can't handle the truth", and worse, he missed the opportunity to place the blame where it really belongs... the main stream media.

The media's concerted effort to undermine "the Bush economy" began as soon as GW took the oath, despite the fact the economy was in fact doing quite well for most of his seven years.

McCain should have simply pointed out that after years of negative and intentionally misleading news coverage on the economy, a sizable segment of the public chooses to believe the leftists lies instead their own bank accounts.

Garbage in... garbage out.

They sit in their air conditioned, $250,000 homes watching their 50" satellite HDTV while reading e-mails from their spoiled brat kids up at High Tuition U., and complain the economy is going to hell. They have three cars and nice vacations.

image So, here John... this one's for you; no charge:

"First left me say that Phil Gramm is a fine economist, businessman and gifted professor, and he will continue to advise me as he has for the last year.

"And while I might have phrased it differently, Dr. Gramm was trying to simply say is that a number of Americans seem to have have lost confidence in our nation and its economy.

"That's a mistake. One that our founding fathers did not make with their fortunes and their very lives. Nor did the Greatest Generation loose confidence even during the worst days of the Depression and World War II.

image"President Kennedy challenged us and starting from scratch, we put a man on the moon before his 10-year deadline; we didn't loose confidence in our country and the free market during he dark years of the Carter administration when the prime rate was 20-percent and we waited in line for rationed gasoline, so we could drive 55.

"Sometimes, we Americans have very short memories.

"The government hasn't made us a great nation; hard-working Americans and a free market have made it the best country in history.  We are, and continue to be the last best hope... real hope... of Earth.

"Our confidence in American and Americans is the life blood of our economy, the fabric of our nation, we can not only do great things and have... we can do anything when we work together.

image "The time in which we uncritically trust our traditional news media to report objectively is long past; I urge you to read and listen to the many available sources of news and opinion... not just what comes on TV before dinner for a half hour or in major newspapers... which, by the way, all seem to have a real economic problems.

"A news media which 'makes' news by constantly drum-beating doom and gloom... in our economy... in the war in Iraq which we have won despite years of reporting that the magnificent effort by our great military was a failure.

"Somehow we've come to believe the nay-sayers, more than we believe in ourselves.

image "We are not above improvement... and I think that's what my good friend Dr. Gramm was trying to express... he was frustrated that some of cannot see the forest for the trees."

"He knows what we are capable of, even in times of great crisis and concern; I have seen the best of America and Americans when hope, real hope, was all we had.

"Now, let's get to work... that's what we do best.

"No questions.

"Thank you and good night."

Despite leaving a rainforest for 102 weather here yesterday, I'm glad to be back in Texas.

I found that the Pacific Northwest while beautiful, seemed to be on vacation like I was (with the exception of the lumber and dairy industries) .

DSC_2292 (2)Worse (for me) was the pronounced feeling that by arriving there, I had left my country.  Like the unique ecosystem that surrounds Lake Quinault, Washington and Oregon lives in separate reality; there is no doubt that living there is great scenery and climate-wise, but politically--for me--it's not unlike being in a foreign country.

Pacific Northwest dominate culture is only just parallel to what I consider America's culture--conservative, Christian and patriotic.

A recent Seattle poll shows Obama with 52-36 margin over McCain in Washington and a 49-39 lead in Oregon... I suspect the margin would be only slightly bigger in Canada or France.

Washington's U.S. Senators Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray rank near the top of the most liberal in the Senate. Each of them received 100% ranking from the NAACP and NARASL -- the people who want to kill babies in the womb.

But the League of Conservation Voters only rates them at 87%. Think about it, that means the enviro-whackos are farther left than virtually any leftist virus in the nation, even the ACLU.

Seaside

The little coastal towns are Victorian, interesting, and for the most part, not overtly "touristy".

DSC_2249Increasingly, I felt out of place and somewhat uncomfortable, knowing that I'd have to run an ad to find a fellow conservative. Fortunately, two of my major stops were in the air and space museum in McMinnville Oregon and the nautical museum in Astoria Washington. But naturally, most of the visitors to those venues were from a presumably more conservative somewhere else.

I think I was able to narrow my reaction to this essential... for "them" my conservatism is dismissed as politics. I disagree... this is my country, my feelings are for my nation, not for a party. Why do these fellow citizens hate my country? Why do they hate it even more during this war which threatens our virtual existence?

Why do they shout down John McCain yet cheer Ahmadinejad who has threatened to destroy us and our stalwart ally, Israel?

Why do they praise the mass-murderer Castro and scorn Ronald Reagan

DSC_1542 To "them" my views are hopelessly archaic, while theirs are oh so enlightened and global.

That's because love of country in a large portion of this nation was strangled to death in the 1960s.

And as my faithful readers know, I place the blame directly on us--The Worst Generation---those born between 1945-1960. It is not surprising the leftists from those years never grew up sufficiently to infuse in their young, a simple, heart-felt love of America.

Sadly, I have lost... am deprived of...  beautiful areas, great cities, even states of my beloved country. It's as if The Second Civil War has ended in a draw, but the Americans have lost.

Best part of the trip? Dani and Oliver's wedding, and seeing for the first time, the legendary Spruce Goose.

It was wonderful to see two intelligent and sober young people begin married life surrounded by family and friends.

And it was really great to photograph, touch and marvel at some of the greatest aircraft in military history.

Yeah, I bought a t-shirt.

All the king's horses and all the king's men.....

Hillarywideeyed Conservatives haven't had this many belly laughs since Dukakis donned the helmet to go tank driving back in 1988.

Most of us don't have time to keep up with which dem these days is calling what other dem a "racist", "loser", "sell-out", and worst of all, the "progressives" now take offense if someone refers to them as liberals (See: Clinton, Hillary). I prefer "Marxist" myself.

Our work may be done... far left blog The Daily Kos is ripping Hillary like she was Barry AuH20.

So rather than trying to comment on most of the continuing good news, I've just borrowed these links from today's Drudge:

Sen. Bob Casey to endorse Obama, join bus tour...
Dean: Bickering Dems May Hurt Party...
Angry Pelosi stands firm on superdelegates...
Leahy says Clinton should drop out of race...
POLL: Obama leads Clinton nationally by 10...
Joe Klein: Give It To Gore...

Traitorss Traitors du jour:

Federal prosecutors say Saddam Hussein’s intelligence agency secretly financed a trip to Iraq for three U.S. lawmakers during the run-up to the U.S.-led invasion.

Democratic Reps. "Baghdad" Jim McDermott, Washington; David Bonior, Michigan; and Mike Thompson, California, are the three democrats giving aid and comfort to the enemy

The indictment filed in Detroit targets former Saddam henchman Muthanna Al-Hanooti for arranging for the October 2002 Iraq trip for the trio of traitors at the behest of the Iraqi dictatorship; furthermore, Iraqi intelligence officials paid for the trip through an intermediary.

Naturally, the democrat trio pleads ignorance of the travel arrangements.

No news is good news for the leftist news media.

Remember the last five years when a single IED would lead the evening news? Remember when the agenda-driven MSM screamed "we're losing" right along with Pelosi, Reid and Murtha?

Traitor_3And now... have you noticed that like Pavlovs' dogs a majority of voters automatically say "health care" when asked what campaign issue is most important, and "the war" ranks down there with forgotten terms like "infrastructure, "bridges", "levees" and Sen. Larry Craig?

The truth of tail-wags-dog prevails when we examine the coverage the war has and hasn't gotten.

From the Pew Research Center:

"From January 2007 -- when Bush announced the "surge" -- through the end of May 2007, Iraq had been the dominant story, accounting for 20% of all the news coverage measured by PEJ's News Coverage Index. But from the time of that May funding vote through the war's fifth anniversary on March 19, 2008, coverage plunged by about 50%. In that period, the media paid more than twice as much attention to the presidential campaign as it did to the war."

"In the first three months of 2008, coverage of the campaign outstripped coverage of the war by a margin of more than 10-to-1 (43% of the newshole compared with 4%). In an environment in which newsroom cutbacks and decreasing resources may make it more difficult for news outlets to stay atop two ongoing mega-stories, the media, for now, have made their priorities clear."

Cutting to the chase... before the "surge", when things were tough in Iraq, war coverage was 25 percent of MSM news; but now that the surge has achieved substantial success and pacification, and some young Marines are complaining that "there's nobody to shoot."... the MSM war news dropped to three percent last February.

Public opinion doesn't drive the news coverage in this country... the news media dives public opinion.

Sheep disgust me.
