"The best and brightest" carry guns

First day of the DNC changing the country as well as the entire world.

As I've said before, I get a little uncomfortable around people who want "to change the world." 

But first, here is something we need to reflect upon:

During a 2007 Royal Marine assault on a Taliban stronghold in Afghanistan's Helmand Province, Lance Corporal Mathew Ford was critically wounded; his forward position in defilade in the midst of torrid of enemy fire.

His unit was unable to reach him.

The Marines called on Apache pilot Army Air Corps Warrant Officer Ed Macy with a plan so daring that rear echelon types bickered for an hour before approving it.

But the soldiers and Marines were well aware of the Taliban's latest horror tactic...  "The Taliban have a new plan for what they’ll do if they capture a British soldier. They intend to set up a webcam for a live internet broadcast and then skin him alive’.” this gave them even more reason to save one of their own.

It was no idle threat... they'd committed the same atrocity on Russian POWs in the 1980s.

Now the small group was even more determined to find L/Cpl Ford and bring him back.

For Macy it was as simple as it was preposterous.

Chris Fraser-Perry, 19, a Royal Marine for just 14 months, Royal Engineers' Captain Dave Rigg, 30, would strap themselves to the outside of an Apache piloted by Macy and "Carl".

The second Apache, externally carrying Royal Marines Sergeant-Major Colin Hearn, 45, and Gary Robinson, would provide support for the retrieval of the down Marine. 

In the bitter Afghan winter cold, the rescue mission launched for the heavily-defended target two kilometers distant. 

Macy would receive the Military Cross, right, and there would be others....

Yep, courtesy of the A-10 Warthog and the  AN/GAU-8 30mm Avenger seven-barrel gatling gun.

Don't confuse this monster with a "machine gun"; it is  mounted only on the A-10 attack jet, and is used primarily in the air to ground role as a soft target killer and tank buster. This aircraft is used for close-air support in attacking ground threats such as armored tanks and vehicles; it also serves as a forward air control observer for sighting ground threats and directing air strikes against enemy targets.

The gun, mounted in the fuselage nose of the A/OA-10 Thunderbolt, is produced by [ex General Electric] Martin Marietta Armament Systems; and 80% of rounds fired at 4,000ft hit within a 20ft radius... ponder that for a moment, and remember that just six rounds from the Avenger can kill a tank.

According to some sources, the Avenger  (right) fires 1,800 rounds per minute, with the higher 4200 rd/min rate having been deleted in the 1980s. However, the A-10 can only fire in high rate, which is 3,900 rounds per minute. Low rate went out with the use of the batelle gas diverting device, and although the A-10 no longer uses the batelle device, the limit on high rate only has remained, since it made no tactical sense to fire in low rate and have to spend that much more time on final to get the same number of rounds on target.

Almost a lifetime ago, when I could hear the rumble of B52 ArcLight strikes, I felt compassion for my opposite number in the NVA. What manner of unbelievable hell was that?

Thankfully, I couldn't imagine.

But for these Taliban subhuman, pieces of rat bait I cannot only imagine worse, I wish it was US policy.

It is all they understand.  

And all they deserve.

Kill 'em all... and I don't give a damn if G-d sorts them out or not; in fact, if he asked, I'd say, "don't waste Your time."

"Character matters"... yes, but it's far more important than that. It's a window into our very souls; and when we choose a president, a candidate's character should be the primary consideration in every vote cast.

If that were the case, come November, John McCain would record the most lop-sided victory in American history.

It bears reemphasis... against all odds, a small baby survives the butchery of abortion and wriggles, cries out and blinks against the harsh light. The child, the US citizen with a life-expectancy of 80 years, is, in the presence of the mother and the nurses (perhaps mothers themselves), summarily executed. 

In Chicago the other person in that horror chamber is Barack Hussein Obama.

A significant number of Americans will vote to this type of "hope and change" and we approach the nadir of our national character.

Reason No. 5 why Condi Rice is and always has been worthless as SecState and should return to her piano:

Back in May, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice publicly raked Israeli officials over the coals after they refused to let seven Palestinians who'd won US-sponsored Fulbright scholarships leave Hamas-controlled Gaza.

Israel insisted the seven had ties to Hamas terrorists and were security risks. Faced with Israel's refusal to let them leave Gaza, the State Department revoked the scholarships for study at US institutions.

That had Rice fuming. "If you cannot engage young people and give complete horizons to their expectations and their dreams," she declared, "I don't know that there would be any future for Palestine."

Condi, you dumbass, the dream of these "young people" is your head on a plate.  

Yeah, you can see this coming; Israel finally gave in to Rice's yammering for terrorist scholarships, and approved exit visas four of the Palestinian subhumans-in-training.

(The little darlings are shown right, at least I assume it's them.) 

But Israel drew a hard line on the other three... all of whom were either students or teaching assistants at the Islamic University of Gaza - a notorious Hamas stronghold.

Ii should come as no surprise that the State Department has now revoked the trio's visas again, sending a letter than read, based on "information has come to light that you may be inadmissible to the United States"

The real question... "Why in the gawdamn hell is an American institution giving your hard-earned tax money to Hamas terrorist?    

Trust me... the piddling scholarship money is a mere drop of what we give our mortal enemies.

Rabbi Yisrael Weiss, former Chief Rabbi of the IDF has seen much horror in his day performing his religious and military duties, but even he was shocked at what he saw yesterday.

After Israel received the remains of its soldiers Ehud Goldwasser (top) and Eldad Regev (bottom right), Weiss said that "the verification process yesterday was very slow, because, if we thought the enemy was cruel to the living and the dead, we were surprised, when we opened the caskets, to discover just how cruel. And I'll leave it at that."

The two young soldiers were captured by Hezbollah in July 2006 which sparked a month-long, poorly-conducted war which brought more justified condemnation of the Olmert government.

But Olmert's decision to trade the remains for the release of the subhuman murderer Samir Kuntar (right)--who returned to Lebanon to a jubilant hero's welcome--signals the low ebb  in Israeli resolve.

In 1979, at the age most young men in the world are working or going to school 16-year-old Kuntar led a four-man PLO team into the coastal town of Nahariya.

They were confronted by four Israeli policemen and killed them. They burst into an apartment building and captured Danny Haran and his four year-old daughter, Einat. The mother, Smadar Haran, was able to hide in a crawl space above the bedroom with her two year-old daughter Yael, and a neighbor.

Kuntar's team marched Danny and Einat down to the beach, where a shootout with Israeli policemen and soldiers erupted. Kuntar shot Danny at close range in the back, in front of his daughter, and drowned him in the sea to ensure he was dead. Then turned his attention to little Einat ; he repeatedly slammed his rifle butt into her skull, smashing her head against beach rocks.

And in a soul crushing tragedy reminiscent of the Jewish Ghetto in WWII, Smadar Haran accidentally suffocated her toddler Yael while attempting to quiet her whimpering, which would have revealed their hideout. 

A policeman and two subhumans were killed in a subsequent shootout on the beach; Kuntar and the fourth member of the group, Ahmed Alabras, were captured. Alabras was freed by Israel in May 1985.

This is the despicable piece of human filth Israel has just given back to his fellow terrorists who will immediate begin planning more atrocities.

Should we care? Hell... we don't even care about 3,000 dead at the WTC, the Pentagon and in a Pennsylvania farm field.

Almost as despicable as Olmert's release of a live terrorist in the prime of his murderous life for bags of human remains is the two-year long protests and demands of the Goldwasser and Regev families for him to do so.

They are all complicit in all future deaths in which Kuntar participates.

And it's not outside the realm of possibility that his future victims could include a member of your family.
