... the monument to the 12th and 44th New York Regiments on Little Round Top--the largest regimental monument on the battlefield. It was dedicated on July 3, 1893 and it was designed by Gen. Meade’s chief of staff at Gettysburg, Daniel Butterfield who originally commanded the 12th New York.
