Ruby is the widow of the Indestructible Jack Lucas of Iwo Jima; everybody, including Jack, believed that she added 10 years to his life.
She was beside him for his last moments.
In true form, when Ruby told him it was alright to "just let go", he responded: "Hell, I ain't dead yet."
Jack always got the last word.
